What does a dream about a huge wave of water mean?

I recently had a dream that I was on an an Island or something, and suddenly a huge wave or wall of water was rushing toward me. I am not sure if I was on a beach or if it was a bay. But anyways I ran to the center of the island under some type of shelter similar to a Tiki Hut and grabbed on to a palm tree for dear life. Then I woke up. I have had other dreams that revolved around huge waves of water. Is it symbolic, or is it related to my fear of Megatsunamis? My friend told me it ment I was taking on too much responsibilites and I had a lot on my shoulders. True or not?
