beach camping in california?? ?

sparklnxdi

i want to know of beaches you can camp on without an rv, preferably in southern and central california. The only beach i know of is pismo, but i've been there countless times. is there anywhere in the los angeles county for camping? like santa monica or venice? i want to be in an area like that, with lots to do during the day. please provide personal experience too!

Answer
I just came back from Limekiln state park which is near big sur . They have campsites just back from the beach or you can camp in the redwoods if you prefer. Some people go there with small RV's, but big ones are not allowed. Also they have separate tent areas where no RV can go. They also have two campsites high up on a hill, completely private that overlooks the ocean. Those are sites # 1 and 2

me and my boyfriend live in temecula 92591 (between SD and LA) and we want to go to the beach and set up a tent just for a night or two. which is the best, safest and cheapest beach camping ground to do that at?

Answer
I don't do a great deal of camping in California, but I have yet to see a free campground in California, not to say there isn't one. Here is a link to a list of Southern California beach campgrounds that gives a review of the campground and further details on each of them. Hope I helped. Have fun!

Answer
I don't think that they allow people to camp on the beaches.

Is there any place on the mid-northern east coast to camp on the beach for free or cheap?

I am looking to get a couple friends and drive down from cape cod to somewhere within 6ish hours from me. I would like to camp out on the beach or somewhere near it for free or relatively cheap. Is there any nice place where I could do this? I do not want to stay in a hotel or condo or anything - too expensive. I would like to find a place where I could drive out on the sand or park my car and bring tents out on the beach or somewhere where I don't need reservations. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Answer
You can't legally camp on the beach anywhere on the east coast for free or otherwise.
