Night time beach wedding & reception??

I want to get married on the beach at night...using Tiki torches or string lights. And then have my reception on the beach under a white tent again with lots of lighting....has anyone else done this or have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi there. It sounds utterly romantic. I have not had my own wedding on the beach, but it is very popular in my home town and since I work for a hire company that rents out marquees, we have done quite a few just as you described it. For the lighting you can use fairy lights and chinese paper lantens as well as lots of candles. Sounds too romantic! Good luck!

California Beach Wedding Reception?

I am looking for a location that will not cost 1,000's of dollars. My fiance and I have looked at a few places but they are too pricey for our budget. Where can I find some beach venues to celebrate our wedding reception? (We would prefer a tent on the beach or being able to see the beach from an outside area.) Any creative ideas on the venue location would help too!:)

Hmm i don't know what part of Cali you are lookin at but I am getting married in San Diego and did some research on this. First if you know someone close to you in the military, the San Diego coastal military bases all have nice reception areas that overlook the water.

Beach wedding?

Q. I live in florida and trying to plan a wedding,I dont want to spend more than $5,000. I'm thinking a beach wedding (public beach) but worried cause there's no shelter (tents are expensive and not allowed on beach). I was also thinking maybe do a luao style wedding and roasting a pig. Does this sound corny or redneck? Any suggestions?

Yeah, when you get down to roasting pigs for the reception, it does start to sound pretty redneck. BUT- I love a good roasted pig, and that is a reception Id remember, so I still think you should go for it- better than some stuffy old reception hall to my way of thinking, even if it is a little country bumpkinish.

What do you think about a wedding reception on the beach?

Q. I am contemplating having my wedding reception on the beach because I am getting married in a church, and the hotels on the beach charge way to much money for the receptions. Its in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores Al. Does anyone have any suggestions that could help me?

I would have a tent with a floor for the food.

There are no real beaches at Walt Disney World (it's smack in the middle of the state).

If you really want to get married at Walt Disney World, you need to plan the wedding with a Disney Wedding Planner. You can't just show up with a minister and get to it. You'll get kicked out.

The smallest wedding you can have at Walt Disney World is an Escape Wedding. It's for less than 20 guests and starts at around $4000--not including the minimum 4-night reservation at a Disney resort.

The most elaborate wedding you can have there is a Wishes Wedding, where they specify that you'll be required to spend a minimum of $10,000 to $25,000, depending on the season.

What are some of the best places to have a wedding in Upstate New York, close to Rochester & the Finger Lakes?

The other posters have great ideas with Letchworth and Bellhurst. Although, I've heard Bellhurst is quite expensive. There's also Genesse Country Museum. Woodcliff is just off 490 and absolutely gorgeous, but very expensive. If you're going for formal though, this might be the way to go. Also, you could try the country clubs around here. Oak Hill is gorgeous as well as Rochester Country Club. Ridgemont in Greece is very pretty, but not as upscale as Oak Hill or the RCC. If you were interested in an outdoor wedding and reception, Crescent Beach in Greece/Charlotte is very pretty as well, and right on Lake Ontario. They will set up tents so you can be outdoors, or do it indoors. Hope this helps! (FYI, Greece and Charlotte are suburbs of Rochester, just about 20 min. north, Letchworth is about an hour south of Rochester I believe, and the country clubs I mentioned are just minutes from Rochester, I'm not sure of the exact location of Bellhurst, but I've been told that in winter it is not ideal as you have to take many snow covered back roads.)

WOW... you are trying to pick between two really hot themes this year. I work at a wedding accessories store and the western wedding theme is by far our hottest selling theme line this year and last. But if your like alot of brides and dont want to be with the norm... I would say the Beach Theme Weddings are beautiful but they are less common now. They were hot a couple years ago and do seem to be making a comeback already this year though.
