We went to the Haulover Beach this February and took a chance on the weather for a couple of the days as it called for showers. They were few and far between and overall the days were just beautiful. Folks just congregate under the shelters or their umbrellas when it does rain and it didn't last long. There was lots of sun and it made for a very enjoyable few days of vacation at Haulover.
Not having been there before we were surprised to find it so accessible. It truly is the Number 1 tourist attraction in Miami. Folks are respectful and friendly, but to not infringe on your privacy. Sure there are a few oddballs and gawkers, but they are easily outnumbered by the everyday people who come to the beach to enjoy it naturally. The water is warm, althought being from Eastern Canada that may be relative to what we are used to. There were certainly more people than we usually see at a naturist beach, but it is almost a family type of atmosphere and you feel totally safe while at the beach. Great spot for first time naturists as you could see some timid ones that were not sure, but after a few minutes were completely nude. No one is concerned about your body type or its condition. Overall a very accepting place to be naked and enjoy the sun and water. Not to be missed if you enjoy the freedom of a naturist beach.
Parking is just across the street from beach and only costs $5 for the day.. great bargain. Beach umbrellas and chairs are available for rent if you like. There is also a canteen on site as well as life guards. Only thing missing is your clothes.
