Any mommies and daddies who camp with their babies?

I love to camp.Use to go every weekend. I have never been camping with my husband or since we've had our children. i would love to go camping soon as a family. Ok so this question obviously is in the wrong section. My kids are 16 months and 3 years old. But they enjoy hiking and the wilderness. Do you think they are too young to take on a weekend trip at a state park. I know people who have taken newborns but not personally. Any personal stories and what the heck do I pack for the kids? Besides the obvious like food and clothes.

I know this isn't the most relevant answer, but we just set up the tent inthe backyard and slept out there last weekend. It was fun, and the kids slept better than they do indoors!

We are considering camping at the beach, but I don't know if I want to take my 5-month-old somewhere hot and buggy. That plan might wait a year or two.

I just had a baby on July 1st so that means I am heading back to work on Monday, I really want to get out of town for the weekend but can't think of where to go or what to do, its to hot out to do any outdoor activities. Any recommendations?

my son is a little older. 10 months. i just went to FL. it was amazing. he was AWESOME. tons to do. i pushed him around at zoo. HE LOVED the beach ( i got a pop tent from babies r us ) and used TONS of sun block. the pool was amazing. i have been bring him to mommy and me swim lessons since 3 months so he LOVES the water! you should think about FL. I flew from BOSTON to FLA.. and he was awesome on the plane he just slept! good luck and congrats.
