Is It illegal to camp on the beaches on the west coast of Florida?

If anyone knows of any free or really really cheap campgrounds in florida that would be awesome but otherwise where can I pitch my tent for free for a week?

Preferably near Sarasota (west) or Delray Becah ( east) and right on the coast

Check out the state parks that are in the area you will be at.There are several near or on beaches in that area.
