not everyone reacts to that but when you think about it
when its sunny people are happy, its beach time. go out with your friends, shopping. basically your outdoors.
when its raining your trapped in shelter and you dont feel happy, because theres not much to do, they hate hearing the pitta patta it makes then depressed.
but then some people like the sound of thunder and like seeing the lightning . its totally up to the person.
and also the lighting(sun vitamin D gives you more energy), and the temperature.

I hate going to bed, because that's when I am alone with my horrible thoughts & it's agonizing - What do I do?
There's no distractions like tv, siblings, etc.. It just me and my thoughts of how much a pathetic loser I am and how screwed up my life is. How do I suppress these thoughts and look forward to going to bed?

Unfortunately, I have to admit my mom is right..being when she said, to take advantage of it, and use it to work for me..that's what she said when I was complaining about things I just dread doing.Mom is right on every count to. Blah. Another thing mom said is, you are what you think and if you aren't but you keep thinking it, soon you really will be what you are calling yourself in your mind. YOU ARE NOT A LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's just very easy to think negative rather than think positive. Life may be messed up, but that is life. Life is about all things, the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful, the prize, the win, the loss, the gold star and the demerit. Bedtime has become a dumping ground for you. For some reason its like the pile up of trash busts out the trash bag at bedtime and in your brain you are running around trying to clean, fix, or fast tidy the mess. You need to make some rules about bedtime and practice them until your mind obeys you. Re-do your bedroom so that it is clean, with an updated look to it. Move the furniture around or whatever you can do. Next I want you to not lay on the sheets, or have a top sheet touching your skin. I want only blankets touching your skin. I want you to use soft, fuzzy blankets, one to lay on and one to substitute your top sheet. Sense and touch are extremely important in training the mind. I want you to go through some magazines, old calenders ect..and find pictures of places you like. I enjoy pictures of camping in the outdoors, wild cats and nature. My daughter loves beaches and pictures of castles. Most thrift stores resale magazines. Put your pictures on your bedroom wall, insight so you can see them while you lay down. When you can't go to sleep because the trash is looming at you, look at your collection of pictures and imagine stepping into one of those pictures. What would you do, how would you live. How would you eat and build a story that applies to each picture. It is really important that you get away, take a break from the negative thinking. Unless it is a temporary problem like you are mad because training the dog to use the litter box is going so slow....the problem is still going to be there. Taking a break won't hurt or change the problem. The problem won't get worse nor disappear just because you took a ten minute break, so no worries. The first few times you do this, try to last at least one minute. I want you to find a picture of the woods solely. Instead of telling yourself all the usual, I;m a loser stuff, and especially when these thoughts are really intense, I want you to focus even more on the picture of the woods. I want you to build a fort in the wooded picture because you are going to need some sort of shelter, as you are homeless in this scene, due to agrree-ing to a weekend hike trip and getting lost. You only have a back pack with essentials in it. The group you were with has the trail map, so you are really stuck, and worse, you are at least at 14,000 foot elevation. Better google that, so you know what 14,000 feet feels like. In your back pack you have basics that all smart hikers have, water proof matches, a candle, a lighter, a knife, fishing line with a hook, a flashlight, heat in a can, and your sleeping bag, clothes and various other essentials. You do have some food, but you will need to procure more, somehow. Instead of being lonely, turn that into solitude. People pay top dollar for solitude. Instead of depending on siblings to distract you, turn it into a mind refreshing, mind building experience. Supress nothing, take control, you are the boss here, not a bunch of negative feelings. If your feelings need free reign to come out and play, then they will have to do so in the confines of the rules, which is no hashing and replaying during sleep hours, they must vent during the day when you are rested and better equipped to deal with and focus on them. At bed time, a person is just to tired to fully focus on problems and deal with negative thoughts, which may be why at bed time you are haunted with a pile of crap to deal with....you are tired, don't pay full attention to them, so they keep replaying trying to force out of you your full attention. It ain't working, so it's time to apply something new to the problems. I wish you well my non loser friend.
