Are there any volunteer programs that let you travel?

~~It's Me!

I was just wondering because I love traveling and would like to do some volunteering. I'm 16 and getting ready to be 17. Any suggestions would be helpful :)
I live in the USA and am interested in pretty much any kind of volunteering. I have quite a bit of free time...
Oh and the volunteering doesn't necessarily have to be just in the USA.

Answer
If you are in the USA* and like the out-of-doors, the Student Conservation Association (SCA) will let you camp in a national park and do manual labor with a team of fellow high-school students, under the direction of an older person. You have to pay your own air fare and buy your own food. The NPS loans you a tent and such.

* All we can tell from this end is that you speak English. If you are not in the USA, edit your question to say where you are. Each country has different programs.

"Volunteering" covers a lot, too; tell us if you mean working with dogs at the shelter, teaching literacy or cleaning up beaches.

Looking for primitive campsites in the Ft Lauderdale / Miami area?

Mikey

My friend is heading down to Miami and wanted to find some good campsites. Tent camping........
Waking up to the sound and sight's of the beach at sunrise with some coffee would be great ! Really open to all in the area, but one can dream can't he :)
Specific info on the location or name of the park would be great.
About 1 hour in any direction from Ft Lauderdale is what he's after.
Any good detailed road maps of the area available on line ?
